A great place with an extensive bourbon selection and some delicious southern food. I sat at the bar and had a view of the many bourbons available and the bartender was attentive and helpful with making my choices. The food was flavorful with large filling portions that were a good value for the money. Everything came out quickly and was hot and freshly prepared. The fried pickles were thin and crispy and the chicken juicy and flavorful. I ordered some heavier dishes but they do have some less heavy options available. Everything was great and this a place worth visiting when in the area especially with friends.
Our first visit here and we'll definitely be back! We loved the decor, ambiance and the service! Great people! We ordered a bunch of appetizers to split between the table and everything was delicious! Highly recommend this lovely place!!
Food: Ordered the three meat plate (Brisket, Ribs, and Pork) with corn and beans. The ribs were great, had a really good run on them, the pork was fine, and the brisket one piece was extremely dry and the other two very tender and juicy. The BBQ sauces all had good flavors to them. The corn and the beans were the real winners. Service: The bartender was very friendly and helpful. She checked on me constantly to make sure all my needs were met. Atmosphere: Seemed like a decent mix of regulars and visitors. It was quite dark inside though, which didn't bother me, but might for those with bad eyesight.
Best Brisket I've had since leaving Kansas City! My friend ordered the Nashville Hot Chix, and she loved it. The Sweet Potato Mash and the Garlic Grits are fabulous sides. Atmosphere and wait staff are incredible! A must visit if you're around the Downtown Square!
It was our first time eating at the restaurant. We normally do not like to eat outside, but the noise level inside the restaurant was really high, so we had our meal on the patio. We had the North Carolina pork platter and the Smitty sandwich. The bbq and vinegar sauce were amazingly good. The Smitty was just as tasty. The cole slaw, Mac and cheese and fries were delicious. The sweet tea could have been a bit sweeter, but was good. We'll be back for sure, just hope it won't be so noisy.
